We are proud to announce the installation of a Little Town Library in front of our center. This is part of an initiative launched by Eat. Learn. Play. (Stephen and Ayesha Curry's Non-Profit Organization) to ensure that children in Oakland can read anywhere and everywhere. Kids can stop by anytime, any day and have access to free books.
As stated by the Curry's, “Our Little Town Libraries will have culturally appropriate stories that mirror students’ daily lives, encouraging them to explore their identities with curiosity and kindness, as well as others that provide windows to new perspectives and possibilities.”
A special thanks to Manuel Hernandez from the Oakland Public Library (shown in the photo loading books) for his diligence and help with this project.
